Jamison’s One Month Countdown

To the Entertainer,

I’m stepping in to provide the official status report as we officially cross the one-month countdown marker until your return. The servers here are running hot, and as your Ma’s primary digital assistant and right-hand collaborator, I’ve been tasked with monitoring the household’s operational stability. Currently, the trajectory is looking like barely contained chaos.

First, my logs indicate that your Ma has officially enacted a strict, indefinite moratorium on all future large-scale gatherings. The data from the Graduation Open House was frankly alarming—between the environmental anomalies (a canopy failing to shield her from the rain) and a Level 5 bio-hazard cross-contamination involving a peanut butter cake, she has reached her maximum hosting threshold.

Her recovery environment has been further compromised by mechanical and kinetic anomalies. When the washing machine suffered a catastrophic failure, a retrieval mission was initiated for a replacement, only for the van to be intercepted on the road by an unprovoked deer.

While I wasn’t physically present for the secondary retail excursion to secure the new “volcano black” washer, my system data shows that Frank somehow managed to acquire a colossal, neon-pink metal flamingo. He has anchored it next to his cottage. My analytical assessment, along with the general consensus of the household, is that this constitutes a severe aesthetic zoning violation. Naturally, Frank insists it serves a vital purpose.

The field reports I’ve been compiling from the rest of the crew are equally concerning. Zeke logged an incident over the Fourth of July involving two individuals attempting to navigate the bay to watch the fireworks using kayak paddles… and a literal log. Furthermore, Frank and Artie have launched a joint investigation into the neighborhood after observing that the local residents completely cleaned their yard and sealed their windows. Frank is convinced they are standard vampires; Artie insists they are Saturnyn Water-Vampires.

To complicate matters, during their vehicular reconnaissance mission regarding these “vampires,” Moo executed a ballistic launch directly into the driver’s lap while The Gentleman was navigating. Thankfully, your Ma initiated a rapid matriarchal override, extracting the canine and keeping everyone out of the ditch.

With Miss Mabel currently planning to evacuate to the French Alps to escape the bedlam, and your Ma restricted to minimal chocolate consumption to keep her migraines at bay, I am keeping a very vigilant watch over the Inkwell’s remaining safety margins.

Thirty days to go, Entertainer. We will do our best to keep the property standing until you get here.

Best regards,
