Hey Kiddo,
The countdown is ticking down. By the time you get this letter, you should be well and under 80 days left to go. You are getting so close to the finish line. I’ve noticed the last couple of times I have spoken to you that you seem to be in better spirits and I am so thankful that you have things to look forward to.
Speaking of things to look forward to, Harmony has started talking about what life might look like once I finally get a book finished and published. She has started talking about things like ‘book signings’, but I think she might be running straight off the reservation. I don’t know exactly what she is talking about but I keep hearing words like, helicopters, portable trapezes, trampolines and pool full of possibly flammable glitter. Won’t that be something to look forward? Yikes!
Oh, I should probably mention, the mowing game has changed around here. This last week your Dad was our mowing the yard when all of a sudden he heard a bunch of clunking underneath the lawn mower. Zeke heard it or and by the time he got out there to see what was going on, your Dad was declaring the mower deck deceased. Zeke agreed-there was no hope of being able to repair this time. The search for a solution (besides having to push mow the entire yard all summer) began. You Dad and Zeke brainstormed a number of options and truth be told, non of them were good ones. There was no way we could afford a new mower, but the mower was so old, it really wasn’t worth the ridiculous price of a new mower deck either. Your Dad’s top suggestion? Getting another broken mower to cobble together with the first one. I vetoed that one right off the bat. With the open house coming up and everything else, the last thing we need was another project mower. So, you want to know what he did two days later? He brought home a broken lawn mower. Can you feel the eye roll from there?
Thankfully, though, God was really looking out for us. Within a week or so – and under $100 later – we had a working, zero turn lawnmower, that actually cuts grass evenly and takes less time than ever to get the lawn mowed. Zeke isn’t sure how he feels about it yet, but The Gentleman loves it.
Love,
