The Plaid Prince

Now introducing our newest crew member, my brand new nephew, The Plaid Prince! We’ve been waiting for him with great expectation for the last few weeks especially. Even more so when his due date came and went with still no indication of him being ready to make an appearance. Then my sister woke up with ‘mild’ contractions the other morning. After 36 hours of labor with my niece, she figured that she had plenty of time and that there was no rush to get to the hospital. The Investigator wasn’t so trusting of living in the wait and encouraged her to let him take her to the hospital sooner rather than later.

The trip to the hospital was relatively uneventful. They got all checked in and settled in with the expectation of a long wait. But all too soon, before the doctor could even get into the room, The Plaid Prince decided that he was done with the waiting. The doctor arrived just in time to slip on his blue gloves and caught my nephew as he made his complete entrance into the world.

Born in our grandfathers birthday month earned him the plaid part of his alias, as our grandfather is known for the plaid shirts that he nearly always wears. That and the fact that a couple of months ago I was at a store and I just happened to find the perfect little plaid shirt so that he and Grandpa could be matching little birthday buddies. ❤️

The Little Roar doesn’t seem too sure on what to think of this new little person who has invaded her life yet. Apparently though, her sense of compassion for him is strong though as on day one, every day he cried, so did she. Hopefully that is in no way a predictor of the coming days. Stay tuned for the adventures of The Little Roar and The Plaid Prince.

Welcome to the world, our little Plaid Prince. Cute as a button and ready to take the world by storm.

Congratulations on your new nephew!! That’s cute about the plaid shirt and grandpa. Is grandpa still living? Maybe you could get a pic of them together. My daughter in law is 2-3 cm dilated and due 4/28 so we are anticipating as well and this is her grand’s AND his GREAT grandpa’s bday month and his moms bday month!! We’ll see if she decides to appear in April or May! You never know. We are blessed with these new babies in our families – don’t take it for granted!
