Well, I’m still alive. It’s been one week since I went in for what was supposed to be more of a prophylactic double mastectomy with the reconstruction that I have been needing for like 5 years now. And I had the surgery done. Only it wasn’t exactly just the precaution and reconstruction that I had been expecting. On Thursday I received a call from the doctor telling me that when they sent all the tissue into pathology the results came back positive for cancer, in my right breast. Thankfully it had not spread outside the milk duct so further treatment shouldn’t be necessary. But honestly I didn’t see that call coming. Despite the possibility, it just wasn’t something that was on my radar. Another new cancer. This makes 3 times for crying out loud. My body keeps trying to kill me. I imagine I will something further to say on it when I am no longer looking at life through the foggy haze of pain medicine, lol.
