Sometimes I think, the closer our story is to our heart, the harder it is to open our hearts and set it free. It’s as if, inside of us, our story is safe, it is ours, it is perfect. Letting it flow from our fingers, releasing it, makes us vulnerable, like a freshly born butterfly. So new, so fragile. But it is only when we let go and let our story spread its wings that we will find that those delicate wings will hold our weight and carry us on the wind.
It’s not always easy to be vulnerable. In fact, often it is quite difficult to intentionaly open ourselves up to the possibility of getting hurt. After getting burnt over and over, we cringe a little inside, just from seeing the fire. However, when we take that risk, to share our story; that one that lives impossibly close to our heart; even if we get burnt, we will find ourselves, like a phoenix reborn. Living renewed, better and stronger than ever before, with hope rekindled anew in our hearts.
