Greetings from Thailand!
Oh, Mel, you would not believe the most incredible day I had! It was simply marvelous darling. I started the day with a glorious sunrise sail out to James Bond Island. You would have loved it. The sun rising over the water. The boat sailing smoothly across the lightly rippling waters. The smell of the shore wafting through the air. So many photo opportunities. Next time we simply must find a way for you to come along. You would have adored this trip. After I captured the view and the heart of a native boy named Talay, (That means ocean here.)I stopped at an incredible little floating village called Koh Panyee, where I had the most divine Mango Sticky Rice with some grilled fish. If I understand the locals correctly, I think even you could have eaten it.
After lunch Talay offered to take me hiking through the Khoa Sok rainforest. Since it was supposed to be my last day there I thought, ‘Whyever not?’ The experience was in a word, spiritual. It was as if God Himself created the place just for that moment in time. And, oh the waterfalls. You would have thought that you had died and gone to heaven they were so beautiful. And it was the perfect time of year to come because the falls were heavy with water. I couldn’t even hear Talay prattle over the roar of the water.
Far too soon, Talay insisted that we head back. A few minutes some rain began to make it past the canopy. By the time he dropped me back at the resort we were both marvelously drenched. I had intended to head straight for the airport, but the concierge warned me that I had better check the status of my flight before I called a cab. Good thing he mentioned, because as it turned out, my flight got delayed until tomorrow. Which worked out great, because it meant that I got to enjoy a hot stone massage. I had resigned myself to missing out on getting a massage up until that opportunity presented itself. I highly recommend it. I was so loose after that, it was delicious.
