There are so many Christmas movies out there and everybody has their favorites. Here is just a short list of my personal favorites. There should be a little something for pretty much everyone. Some for the gals who love the flicks, some comedy

1. The Santa Clause
1. The Santa Clause: Scott Calvin works for a toy company. He thinks heโs got life on the fast track. One Christmas Eve after reading his son the Night Before Christmas, Scott dozes off one to be awakened by his son who is hearing noises on the roof. After running outside Scott startles Santa on the roof, who then falls off the roof. Only to land and disappear, leaving only his clothes behind. At the urging of his son Scott puts on Santas suit and delivers the rest of the presents. The reindeer then take Scott and son to the North Pole where he learns that he is the new Santa. When Scott awakens in his own bed, he thinks it was just a dream. As time passes, however, Scott soon learns that the role of Santa will not be denied.
2. Christmas with the Kranks
2. Christmas with the Kranks: After their daughter joining the race core and flying away for a year, Luther and Nora Krank decide to give up Christmas to go on a tropical vacation. It comes with some ramifications that they did not foresee and before they know it, their whole world is kind of spiraling out of control. Just when they think that they have everything figured out their daughter call home with news that, surprise , sheโs flying back for Christmas with her new fiancรฉ . Desperately Luther and Nora try to pull together their famous Christmas Eve party which comes with unexpected chaos and an opportunity for renewal and restoration of relationships.
3. Christmas Vacation
3. Christmas Vacation: Clarke Griswald just wants to give his family the perfect Christmas. And hes willing to do whatever he can to make it happen. Heโs going to but his own tree, invite his family to come stay for the holidays, and make his house the brightest one on the block. He has the best of intentions, but unfortunately not the best of luck. Between wacky family members, falling off his roof and waiting for the christmas bonus that just isnt showing up Clarke keeps trudging forward, encountering all manner of crazy situations, bound to make that holiday an unforgettable one.
4. How the Grinch Stole Christmas
4. How the Grinch Stole Christmas: Dr.Seus holiday classic. The grinch hides out in his mountain home away from the happy inhabitants of whosville. Christmas is coming and the grinch cant stand all the joy and happiness he hears floating up the mountain. He resolves to take it away by stealing Christmas, He cooks up a plan to swoop in like Santa and take away Christmas. Only, after taking away all of Christmas he comes to find out, that Christmas is so much more than ribbons and bows. There are multiple versions of this now available. Personally I would recommend either the original cartoon version or the live version with Jim Carrey.
5. Holiday in Handcuffs
5. Holiday in Handcuffs: I stumbled across this one by accident and loved it. Itโs Christmastime and starving artist Trudi is expected to bring her boyfriend to meet her family at a cabin in the middle of nowhere for the Christmas holiday. As the day unfolds she destroys her hair, screws up a job interview, gets dumped by her boyfriend at her dead end job, while struggling with the pressure of feeling like she needs to live up to her familyโs impossible expectations. While struggling at work, she just snaps, and kidnaps one of the diners at the restaurant where she works at gunpoint. She then drags him along to her family Christmas and manages to convince her family that he is making up his story of abduction. There is some crazy humor and family drama along the way, but things work out in the end.
6. Home Alone
6. Home Alone: A Christmas classic. One I honestly was afraid to let my children watch for a lot of years, fearing that they would get โbad ideasโ from it, lol. 8 year old Kevin gets forgotten as his family rushes around trying to catch a plane for their holiday trip. When a head count is taken after the plane takes off and the horrible mistake is realized his family begins to do everything they can to get back home. In the meantime Kevin is taking care of himself and defending his home from a pair of incompetent home invaders intent on robbing his families home. Kevin uses rather inventive and unconventional methods to defend his home from these invaders.
7. Muppet Family Christmas
7. The Muppet Family Christmas: This may be my favorite muppet movie of all time. The muppets come together with the Sesame Street gang at Fozies Moms(who was not expecting them, preparing to head to a sunny destination) house for Christmas. Things get crazy as more and more of the gangs show up, filling the house up to overflowing. Wonderful moments of friendship and love and hope are born along the way.
8. Die Hard
8. Die Hard: Yes, this is a Christmas movie. A good one to watch with the action lovers in your household. Police officer McClain flys from New York to see his kids and his estranged wife for the holidays. He arrives at his wifeโs place of work only to be caught up with a bunch of gun toting criminals intent on making off with a rather large fortune. McClaine saves the day and his wife with the help of a local officer and a little help from the chauffeur that drove him in.
9. While You Were Sleeping
9. While you were sleeping: This one is a long time family favorite. An incredible story about how โlife doesnโt always work out the way we plan.โ How unimaginable circumstances come about to bring people together in the most unimaginable ways. One women saved a life and found a family she never expected to have.
10. Season of Miracles
10. Season of Miracles: This one is one of my favorite Christmas movies. Itโs a story of an incredible woman who risks everything to keep her niece and nephew. They come to the town of Bethlehem during the holiday season and there they find hope, help, and redemption.
Happy Holidays!
