Type two inflammation is an autoimmune disorder. A hyperactive immune disorder. Here’s the thing with hyperactive immune disorders. They are crazy.
A regular immune system is like an army. They take orders. When they get the call that an attack has come or war has broken out, they load up and go to war against the invading forces. Then, when the war is over and the crisis has passed, they stand down. Maybe go for a drink, play a few hands of cards so to speak. Just take it light until the next time they are called up to battle.
The immune system of someone with a hyperactive autoimmune disorder is very different. We have an army, but it’s like we got all of these ADHD soldiers, and then somebody pumped em all full of red dye and sugar. They are buzzing too high to even consider sitting still. They get the call to war, and they go. They attack and destroy and do what soldiers do. But then, when the battle is won and it’s time for them to stand down, they don’t. They are still running high on sugar and red dye. They can’t possibly by expected to sit down and get a drink or catch a nap or whatever. They are ‘soldiers’. They have a job to do and that job is to go to battle. So they do. Only they don’t just limit themselves to anything actually trying to harm you, like viruses or bacteria. They attack anything and everything. That red cell over there; it was looking funny at them. It’s gotta go. That organ over there…it’s looking a little bit fishy. Gotta attack that. Forget that these are parts of the body that they are actually supposed to be protecting. That’s just schematics. Who cares about that? Who can be bothered to worry about that when there are all of these other things that they could be challenging and attacking? And so, like a group of hyperactive kids, wound up on sugar and red 40, they are going to go wild until they just fall over and pass out. But then, they just get back up and start the whole process all over again.
Meanwhile, we are worn out, exhausted, with body system issues and failures all over the place because our immune system basically got bored with nothing to attack and decided to go after us instead. Like I said, crazy.
