“So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.”
-Galatians 6:10 NASB1995
I was looking at this verse this morning and when I got to the part where it reads, ‘especially to those who are of the household of the faith’, I had the thought go through my head, ‘Yeah, because they are probably the ones most under attack!” Although I know that that is probably an over generalization. I personally think that the enemy mainly attacks those he perceives as being the most dangerous to his plans. I don’t think that he is going to waste time and resources on people that he isn’t worried about disrupting his plans. So, if a non Christian is under heavy attack (that is not caused by self infliction), than I think that that is probably because the enemy can see the potential that this person has and he is trying to stop it before it can come to pass.
Sometimes though I think he terribly miscalculates there because the attack from him can end up resulting in that person actually becoming drawn to the Lord. Then they use that negative experience to fuel their passion and drive for the Lord.
What’s sad in a way about this whole thought process is that that are Christians out there who are not under attack at all because the enemy knows that they are no real threat to him. He doesn’t care that they personally believe in Jesus. They are just one soul. He will concede one soul and not care too much. But when you are on fire for God and have the potential to affect countless lives for Christ and draw them to the Lord… That’s when the enemy is going to sit up and take notice. That is when he KNOWS that you are a danger to his plans. Look out, because when you are making a difference for the Lord, that is when the enemy gets you in his sights.
But in the midst of all of that, be strong in the Lord. He will never leave you or forsake you. He loves you and He will be there with you every step of the way. Even when He allows you to fall prey to the enemy’s attacks, He is still right there with you. Ready to help you and guide you through the fire. If you will only look to Him and trust Him to lead the way.
Have you being feeling under attack and stuck in the fire? You don’t have to go through this alone. God is right there waiting for you to take His hand. And I’m here too. The Bible says, where two or more are gathered. If you need prayer for something that you are going through, please drop me a word and I will stand in agreement with you. You don’t have to walk this path alone. May God bless you and keep you safe in HIs arms today my friends.
